The Microsoft Alumni Community Fund
Give along with the Alumni Network and amplify your impact.
“Giving back is part of our Microsoft DNA,” says Microsoft Alumni Network Executive Director Ali Spain. “As employees, we enjoyed matching funds to support the ethos of giving. At the Microsoft Alumni Network, we support the giving of our members and celebrate the positive social impact alumni have when we act together.”
The Microsoft Alumni Community Fund allows the Alumni Network to support members’ philanthropic efforts via amplification of alumni donations during Microsoft Alumni GIVE campaigns, the Microsoft Alumni for Good volunteer matching program and other strategic social impact grants.
The Microsoft Alumni Community Fund is the Alumni Network’s donor advised fund, managed by Seattle Foundation. Each year, the Alumni Network contributes a portion of net profits to the fund. Alumni also make donations to the fund.
Through 2021, the Alumni Network and its members together have given $4 million to alumni-led and alumni-supported nonprofit organizations, relief efforts and more.
Microsoft Alumni Community Fund & Alumni GIVE 2022
During the 2022 Microsoft Alumni GIVE campaign, donations by Alumni Network U.S. Premium Members will designate the amount they wish to donate to eligible nonprofits. Those donations will go directly to the Microsoft Alumni Community Fund. Then, lump sum grants for alumni donations and Alumni Network stretch pool allocations will be made from the Alumni Network to the nonprofit organizations. This process allows alumni to make donations to multiple nonprofit organizations in a single transaction and alleviates many of the administrative duties for participating nonprofit organizations. Nonprofit organizations will receive a detailed list of donors. The Alumni Network provides the tax receipts to our participating members.
Support the Microsoft Alumni Community Fund
Microsoft Alumni Network members can buttress the Alumni Network’s philanthropic efforts by donating directly to the Microsoft Alumni Community Fund. All gifts to the fund are tax-deductible and will support nonprofit organizations that are championed by fellow alumni.
