At Microsoft, I was: A product manager and a market research manager.
While at Microsoft, I worked in: Buildings 6, 8, 10, 16, 17, 19, 20, 32, and Willows.
My favorite campus life memories are: The windstorm of November 1990 was very memorable, as we sat in Building 6 (without power) and watched the Douglas Fir trees falling around the buildings. That day always sticks out when remembering my early days at MS.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Taking my wife and kids to the Christmas parties at the Seattle Convention Center and the company picnics in North Bend.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: I came to Microsoft with a wife and three young kids, so my colleagues knew that work-life balance was important to me.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Spend more time with my family.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Have been working for various tech firms in the Puget Sound area and Canada, including helping launch a product for Paul Allen. I also contracted with the Surface Table team and the Office Marketing team.
I now live in: Redmond, Washington.

My favorite campus life memories are: How well our team (User Education – Applications) worked together. We were a tight, focused bunch!
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Getting training for performing SMART reviews in a windowless room. It was overcast when we went in at 8 a.m., and over a foot of snow was on the ground when we came out at 3 p.m. Most of us slept in the lobby that night.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: The pies I would bring to project meetings. It’s always good to resolve problems and plan with a nice piece of pie!
When I left Microsoft, I: Moved to Northern California to be closer to family.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Write, edit, train, project management, raise Boxers.
I now live in: Burlington, Vermont.
Currently, I am: I'm still writing, editing, training, managing projects...I'm an old dog, but I learn new tricks quickly.

When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Venture into entrepreneurship.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Founded One Life Academy, an academy for coaching and training, to help people get better by leveraging my people and project management skills. To celebrate my successful sixth year as an entrepreneur, I started a EdTech startup, Ample Courses. It’s an online training company with live trainers proving training on the go and "On Demand." On personal front, my elder daughter got married, and now I am a proud father-in-law. LOL
I now live in: Bangalore, Karnataka
Currently, I am: I am an entrepreneur with two companies -- One Life Academy and Ample Courses. I coach Individuals and teams, leveraging strengths and personality. I also deliver corporate training around leadership, MBTI, SF, etc. I am a speaker and created a signature program, SURE Success Intensive, and I love helping  them,enhance their performance.

My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Working in the evening with a multi-national team off-site to solve the problems we saw that very morning on the production line.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: My hands-on attitude.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Work on the Surface 4/Pro Touch and Pen production line, future product R&D testing.
Since leaving Microsoft: I now work as a systems engineer for Voyage81 a new startup which aims to revolutionize the way cameras perceive color. We are looking first at the automotive market. I first joined MobileODT, a medical SU which developed a smartphone-based medical imaging device where I took a big part in the R&D of the future products and supported the engineering aspects of the version which was already on the market.
I now live in: Tel Aviv, Israel
Currently, I am: Systems engineer on new imaging device that requires a lot of ingenuity, thinking about the way colors manifest themselves in the world and more. It's just great to need to use my physics M. Sc. background for daily work!

Since leaving Microsoft: I'm a self employed technical and media consultant who works with clients, writes for zdnet.com and I have written two books on social media marketing and digital marketing for the British Computer society.  I have a portfolio of work that even includes teaching groups how to make cheese (my artisan life - and next book!)

My favorite campus life memories are: I think the favorite memory was the company meeting where Bill Gates Sr. spoke on behalf of United Way:  “If it were not for me, you people would not be here.”
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Seeing the first 1Gig hard drive.

When I left Microsoft, I went off to: I formed a company to develop modem sharing technology, then sold it to Cisco
Since leaving Microsoft: I worked at my company until selling to Cisco. Then I was at Cisco for 10 years. Then, I spent eight years providing 24/7 care to my mother.  Then I earned a BS in biology and went to medical school.
I now live in: Tucson, Arizona.
Currently, I am: I am currently a third-year medical student at Midwestern University.  I am 61 years old and most likely one of the oldest active medical student in America.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member is: Hearing about the activities of other alumni.

My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: The technology enabled by Microsoft is one of the things that keep the world turning.
My favorite memory of my time at Microsoft: Doing engagements with customers during which they get it — where they have grown curiosity and see the value.  I enjoyed getting the message across. I liked it so much, that telling stories basically became my job after Microsoft.
I learned this lesson at Microsoft, and I still use it today: On the one hand, there is the company, the brand, which is great in the case of Microsoft.  At the same time, your own experience with any organization is only as good, or bad, as the people you work with.  It’s important not to mix up those two.

Lisa Eisenberg Merrill

Microsoft: 1989-1994
At Microsoft, I was: An Excel product manager (working with subs) and a group manager at Microsoft University.
While at Microsoft, I worked in: Various buildings in Redmond and Bellevue.
My favorite campus life memories are: I loved the wonderful art displayed throughout the campus. It made me stop on the way to meetings to wonder and be inspired.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: During the Windows 3 Roadshow, I did an Excel/Word demo to 500 financial analysts in New York, and heard gasps of surprise as I changed a number and the graph in a report was automatically updated!
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Travel and co-found Merrill Images, and use my business and photo skills to help nonprofit organizations.
Since leaving Microsoft: Photography has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a child with a pocket instamatic. It’s an ongoing journey of mindfulness, connection and creative expression. After leaving Microsoft, my husband John and I embarked on an epic around-the-world adventure with 500 rolls of film. Upon our return, Merrill Images was born.  
We create images to evoke wonder, inspire action, build businesses and strengthen communities. Our Witness to Hope exhibit of two decades of social impact photography was on display at the Seattle Foundation last fall.  
I’ve been fortunate to learn from many talented photographers, and these days I get great satisfaction from helping others cultivate their creativity via photo workshops, private coaching and international photo tours. 
I now live in: Bellevue, Washington
Currently, I am: Growing Merrill Images and Tiny Trees Preschool, and enjoying life as second honeymooner.

My favorite campus life memories are: Giving Campaign events. It was always a highlight of the year to see the generosity and creativity of Microsoft employees raising money for the causes they care about most.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Wearing a duck costume and waiving a sign off SR520 that read last day for payroll de'duck'tions!' on the last day of the Giving Campaign one year.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: Would need to ask them - hopefully not the duck costume.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Mary Beth and start Swim for Life Vietnam, a drowning prevention program in Vietnam, for two years
Since leaving Microsoft, I: After returning from Vietnam, Beth and I started a public health charity called We Bloom. We partnered with IU to bring drowning prevention workshop to Sierra Leone and starting two recovery cafe's in Indiana (Indianapolis and Lafayette) to help people recovering from substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness.
I now live in: Indianapolis, Indiana, with some time in Olympia, Washingtonm and Dong Hoi, Vietnam, each year. Currently, I am: Helping to start our latest program of We Bloom called Recovery Café.  Also work as a catastrophe adjuster to pay the bills.

My favorite campus life memories: There were a fair few. Some that stood out were meeting Bill Clinton, hearing Bill Gates speak to audiences throughout his career (and seeing the change in him), and just being able to write the who's who of computing and have them actually answer.
My most memorable memories of working for Microsoft: It had to be the launches of Vista and 7, Visual Studio 10, and the Office 14. I worked in various capacities during those launches and there's nothing like seeing your work go live.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: Haha. Honestly, most likely my contrarianism. I think I had such high expectations of Microsoft and myself that my frustration didn't manifest very nicely. Being in business has definitely changed that.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Start my own software company. I started a fitness app company — Deana Fit — that created workout and nutrition plans using rudimentary AI. I also started Curio De Manila — an eCommerce platform.
I now live: In Seattle, Washington
Currently I am: Running my company! It's a blast! As stated above, we've got our own chatbot platform and IPaaS, but via our software services arm, we've also worked in a fair few very interesting projects.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member: The lectures and the company store.

In addition, I am learning biblical Hebrew and completing my masters degree in Jewish Studies. In the 16 months since I left Microsoft, my husband and I have traveled to Italy, Israel, Cuba and Disneyworld.

My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Having the opportunity to visit TechReady 4 in 2007, being able to see Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer presenting their key notes and secondly attending the Company Meeting in Seattle (Safeco Field) in 2008, with 20.000 other Microsoft employees in a single venue.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: That I was an easy to work with, down to earth and knowledgeable colleague, who always wanted to help and to make others better.
Since leaving Microsoft: After leaving Microsoft, I started to work for the Postcode Lottery  in the Netherlands, where I was able to setup SEO, to make campaigns and other content better discoverable. After that I worked a short time for a company buidling e-commerce websites based on the SiteCore platform. Closely working with developers to make sure SEO was taken into account before a website was launched.
I now live in: Alkmaar Noord, Holland
Currently, I am: For the past two years, I am working as an online business development manager at HP. Instead of doing SEO and online optimizations for customer support websites, I am now helping partners, small and large, local and global, to make our HP content better discoverable in conjunction with search engine advertising and shopping -- obviously, not losing sight of Bing.

What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: I was known as the Energizer Bunny who just kept going and going; my passion to make a difference  in the lives of our customer and employees; CPE Champion; fun and funny.
When I left Microsoft, I: Moved back to SoCal to be with family, and I continued to work for MSFT as a sales leadership trainer.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Started my own change management, leadership development and training company; wrote a book for women leaders called “Quiet Women Never Changed History - Be Strong, Stand Up and Stand Out - Let's Go Kick Some Glass” and become keynote speaker; hosted a radio show — “Women Kicking Glass Not Kissing It” on OC Talk Radio; ran Global Performance and Leadership Effectiveness for Johnson and Johnson.

Steven Lipner

My favorite campus life memories are: The Windows War Room during the Windows Server 2003 security push.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Going with Mike Nash to brief SteveB and his and BillG's staff, and asking for authorization to establish the SDL as a requirement for pretty much all Microsoft products. Nobody yelled at us, and Steve said, “Yes.” Mike and I walked out of the room and turned to each other somewhat stunned and said, “I think we just got approved.”
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Retire — and maybe do a few government committees on computer security.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Served on several committees. I was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, and named chairman of the U.S. Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board. I also traveled for vacation to Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Chile, Germany, Czech Republic, and other places than I can remember offhand.
I now live in: Seattle, Washington.
Currently, I am: Working part-time as executive director of SAFECode, a nonprofit that works on software security. (Microsoft is a member and I was board chair before I retired).

A favorite was sitting alongside Satya a few days after he'd become CEO, where he asked me to share perspective on challenges for an acquisition we were considering. It was at this point that I realized Microsoft was at a unique pivot point.

Since leaving Microsoft, I: Launched a side-gig, Managed IT Service Provider, to bring enterprise-class business relationship management to the SMB sector.  My full-time employment is a service manager of Global Core Infrastructure and Datacenter for Finning International, the largest Caterpillar dealer.

My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: Was my team and TechReady.
My favorite memory of my time at Microsoft: Was participating in the first Ready in Las Vegas, and winning D7 Sub of the Year a couple of times.
I learned this lesson at Microsoft, and I still use it today: Be customer obsessed, and respectfully impatient to drive desired customer outcomes.

My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Working on ClearType and interacting with Bill Gates about it a few times.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: Nonuniform sampling. That will make sense to my old colleagues. (Haha.)
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Write books about history of space exploration. I recently published my first book, “Bossart: America's Forgotten Rocket Scientist.” I've been researching a second book on the Soviet exploration of the planet Venus.

When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Become a ski instructor.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Set up my own life coaching retreat company, and volunteered for seven charities all specializing in helping vulnerable kids. I now work as the executive director for a charity that helps children with disabilities who have been abandoned in China. After leaving the UK, I lived in Charleston, South Carolina; Provence, France; and Vancouver BC.
I now live in: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Currently, I am: Running International China Concern Canada — a charity that helps children with disabilities in China.

At Microsoft, I: Functioned as principal architect and lead software engineer, developing Windows and Office.
While at Microsoft, I worked in: Redmond and New York.
My favorite campus life memories are: When I started to work at Microsoft, MS-DOS was the major product. Microsoft had just introduced the Windows operating system. The Microsoft Office suite of applications had not been created. We, the software architects and engineers at Redmond, worked together and inspired each other. We had awesome goals in front of us. We had to put a computer in every desk and in every home. We had to bring information at the fingertips of the users. We knew we were changing the world with technology. All these are beautiful memories!
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: I have many memorable memories working for Microsoft. Shipping the very first version of Microsoft Office is probably the most memorable of these memories.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: During my professional career, I have received many awards from Microsoft for innovation and product development. I have built strategic partnerships between Microsoft and other leading organizations. I have enabled these organizations to achieve the Gold Partner status with Microsoft. I have been recognized by Microsoft for contributing energy and talent towards the overall success of Microsoft and for enabling Microsoft to lead the industry. My Microsoft colleagues remember me as a talented and hard-working professional. They hold me in high regard for my outstanding contributions to Microsoft.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: I worked in directorial capacities with global finance companies.
Since leaving Microsoft: From 2004 to 2011, I worked in directorial capacities with Citadel, Bloomberg and UBS. I directed the development of strategic software applications for finance. During this time, I created the architecture for and directed the development of the widely used Bloomberg Valuation Service (BVAL) that provides credible, transparent and defensible prices for a broad spectrum of financial instruments including derivatives and structured notes. I built BVAL on the IBM AIX platform.
After my success in the finance industry, I focused on transforming the space management and retail industries. I functioned as the Head of Software Development for Icon Parking Systems (Icon). Icon operates more than 300 parking locations in Manhattan and its surrounding areas. I transitioned Icon’s business from VAX mainframe to a hybrid cloud environment. I directed the development of the IconParkingSystems.com site. This website enables customers to sign up for monthly, daily and hourly parking at Icon’s parking lots.
I now live in: Manhasset, New York
Currently, I am: Functioning as a senior executive, management consultant and entrepreneur.

My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Being empowered to design the flexible working program.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: Loving Gadgets and Breakdancing. Also, being able to solve the unsolvable problems.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: After being made redundant, I went back to my consulting business I had before Microsoft.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: : After leaving Microsoft, I restarted the consulting business I already had as Winthrop Development Consultants and obtained the rights to some of the pet development projects I wrote while an employee. These were renamed, updated and released. I have been updating these products, creating new products as addons to Microsoft Dynamics GP as well as selling development consulting hours. It is great being my own boss and setting my own goals and deadlines.
I now live in: Perth, Western Australia.
Currently, I am: Still working as Winthrop Development Consultants (http://WinthropDC.com), attending conferences as a presenter and exhibitor. At Microsoft, I was: Building speech products in the AI Perception and Mixed Reality orgs.
While at Microsoft, I worked in: Sunnyvale, California.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Pursue an MBA at the London Business School.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Finished my MBA, launched a 200 volunteer strong COVID support group that helped support people and SME's affected by COVID. I also am working as a volunteer vaccinator and am in training to be a volunteer Emergency Ambulance Crew member.
I now live in: London, UK
Currently, I am: A technical product manager at TrueLayer.
My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: The sheer scale of things. Being able to build products that are used by millions of users across the world!
My favorite memory of my time at Microsoft: I have several! One was serving as a VPAL for the Give campaign and helping raise money for non-profits and charities we supported. Another was testing a profanity detection service by playing Sea of Thieves and having a senior architect shout profanities at you. 
I learned this lesson at Microsoft, and I still use it today: Build for scale and build it right. Also, I learned the importance of empathy-driven development and having empathetic leaders. Thank you, Satya.

In the last two years, I am the foundation medicine country head and I lead the business and team related to this company bought by Roche in the cancer genomics area.

Currently, I: Lead a multidisciplinary team, ranging from medical, marketing to commercial services, with the objective of transforming clinical practice by ensuring comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) insights are embedded into clinical decision making to enable personalized healthcare, also ensuring all metastatic and recurrent cancer patients receive high-quality comprehensive genomic profiling.

I started my PD diploma, took a public policy course, and then was headhunted to the role of CVP & CTO for leading and growing the cloud business for a large Asia-based conglomerate.

My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: Opportunity! Especially the opportunity to change roles, learn new things, and take on new challenges.
My favorite memory of my time at Microsoft: Office pranks. When people would leave for extended vacations or long leaves, we used to completely re-build or alter their offices. We filled one office with over 1,000 pounds of beach sand. We built a “Becoming John Malcovich” half-floor in another.
I learned this lesson at Microsoft, and I still use it today: Patience blended with empathy. Keep emotions in check and put yourself in others' shoes. Find the common ground.

Since leaving Microsoft, I am: Founder and director for Spiceworks IT Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. It is a facilitator and builder of world-class technology management and product development teams. I worked on the full company lifecycle, including incorporation and establishing of IDC, leading all functions around finance and accounting, sales, HR, operations and legal. We built a highly performant P&E organization of product managers, data scientists, engineers and released products within 6 months with clear a go-to-market strategy. I worked through acquisition by J2 Global, a Ziff Davis B2B. I am currently helping with integration of the two companies as a single global organization.
I now live in: Hyderabad
Currently, I am: An advisory director to engineering college, for setting up a startup innovation incubator and pre-accelerator program to facilitate and organize a range of startup ecosystem and entrepreneurial development activities for the students and startup companies.
I also am working on a business model to bring women and men back into the workforce who took long career breaks to take care of children, support family members, and to recover from Injuries and health issues.

My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Oh, too many. Meeting smart fun people, and I was proud of the fact that women were treated fairly and had opportunities. Not everyone can or should be a director. Everyone was valuable.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues remember most about me: My love of being a part of something great...I got to see software grow up and see a computer in every home.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Travel, take a break, help others
Since leaving Microsoft, I have: Contracted mostly as far as work goes. I went to University of Washington Medicine, survived breast cancer in 2012. I’ve had a good life, but always miss some aspects of Microsoft.

It was in 1992. I had only slept a few hours and was tired, but I had a deadline. It was a weekend day and sunny. I went outside to one of the benches close to the fountain and smoked a cigarette. I guess it was too tempting to lie down and take a quick nap. Next thing I remember is that I heard a voice asking me if I was OK. It was Bill Gates. I was so embarrassed and apologized for sleeping. He told me to go home and sleep in my bed :) I never talked to Bill again, so I kind of blew my one chance.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft:
When we shipped Windows 2000 MUI. When I left Microsoft: I left earlier this year to work for PayPal. I’m the VP, Global Content and Technology for PayPal.

In one spectrum, I have built a new service offering at Amazon Re-commerce division called Product Lifecycle Support for Amazon customers that helps them keep their product instead returning it. This is now used by more than 120 million times by Amazon customers.  In another role as part of the Shopping Foundation team, I introduced a front-end development platform for internal Amazon developer community that is based on Kubernetes CX architecture, and now used by 100-plus teams inside Amazon to build feature for Amazon.com and other marketplace.
I now live in: Snohomish, Washington
Currently, I am: A senior TPM at Amazon
My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: Great teamwork and collaboration. Great products.
My favorite memory of my time at Microsoft: I have many great memories. Favorites are always about celebration of various success stories, and I still remember how I used to bounce the IIS server for refresh before UAT.

My favorite campus life memory: I had the pleasure of visiting Redmond for a great event — and left with a henna tattoo! I have been to many Microsoft Field Offices and call centers in North Dakota, North Carolina and Texas. I was a contractor at the North Carolina location before being hired on to be premier field engineer.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: First, the camaraderie across all levels of Microsoft employees I worked with; I never felt alone in the field. Second, the first time I heard a customer say, 'Microsoft is here!' The phrase: SEV-A, Priority 1.  As a field engineer, I loved helping cu.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: My colleagues have great things to say for me in my LinkedIn Endorsements. I cannot do it justice, but I would sum it up as: I am valued for my integrity, professionalism, and character.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Care for one of my children and to seek treatment for an injury. I have worked for Thrivent, Dell, UnitedHealth Group (Optum) and Oracle.  From time to time, I mentor people looking to further an IT/cyber career, review resumes for fellow transitioning veterans and more.
I now live in: Cantonment, Florida
Currently I am: Working remotely as a principal system engineer, supporting Active Directory, Windows, and related technologies.

My favorite campus life memories are: After moving to Union Hill in Redmond, the office was never far away if I needed to be there. Otherwise best memory was having the seniority to get four corner offices during my tenure when we moved to new offices.
My most memorable memory of working for Microsoft: Windows 95 development, rollout and celebration. It was probably the biggest and most important product in Microsoft's history, and as a Software Test Engineer I owned testing of the new features Task Bar and Start Menu.
What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: That I was always resourceful; as a manager I was always fair, and embraced the fact that teams should have fun; and that I was Yes' site manager for a good chunk of my time at Microsoft.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Look for work. My end date was 3/09, and my next job (contracting at MSFT) was 10/09.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Performed IT contracting work for Microsoft in various roles, and, as release manager, upgraded the point-of-sale system for all Costco locations in the U.S. I became a freelance media writer, submitting many articles on music, movies, and TV to the online journal Something Else Reviews. I made progress in recording numerous music tracks for my audiobiography titled “Creetisvan,” which should be finalized and released in 2019.
I now live in: Redmond, Washington
Currently, I am: Retired from the daily IT grind, but otherwise pursuing creative paths: writing articles for Something Else Reviews and completing my solo album.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member is: Not so much a benefit like Passport or Office 365 subscriptions, but continuing to feel connected to the company that I helped build through 17 years as an FTE, by playing a big part in many great product teams in various roles.

What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: My test experience and the many bugs that I was able to find. 
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: I took a year off to remodel my house, and then went to a startup called Interactive Life.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: Became the CIO at Interactive Life startup that is now embedded in church apps, medical applications, and other media applications.
I now live in: Woodinville, Washington.
Currently, I am: The CIO at Interactive Life, managing development teams in India and Lebanon, managing sales team and support teams.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member is: Being able to buy things at the Microsoft store and being connected to other alumni.

What my Microsoft alumni colleagues probably remember most about me: The fact I live in a remote area in the UP of Michigan with lots of wildlife.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: Volunteered for MDA, which lead to creating a nonprofit Limited Mobility Solutions Inc.
Since leaving Microsoft, I: John Hollcraft (also retired Microsoft) and I develop voice activated bed controllers for those with limited mobility from debilitating diseases or spinal injuries. We provide voice solutions that give people back some independence they lost at no charge to them.
I now live in: Crystal Falls, Michigan
Currently, I am: President of Limited Mobility Solutions Inc. I recently presented at the technology conference at Ithaca College on the work we are doing. Google filmed a mini documentary last fall with one of our customers that has Duchenne. My normal day involves building voice activated bed controllers.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member is: Being able to maintain a connection to a company that I was proud to work for.

My favorite thing about working at Microsoft: The encouragement to think BIG.

Microsoft: 1995-2012 At Microsoft, I worked on: OCU, ECU, OEM and led company-wide Dell Alliance. I was OEM, vice president of Asia
While at Microsoft, I worked in: B22, B18 and B122, spent two-thirds time in Asia during final 7 years.
My favorite campus life memory: Walking to meetings on main campus when I was in B18. Being on main campus really felt like being in college, especially the outdoor events.
My most memorable memories of working for Microsoft: The longer I'm gone, the more it's just about the people. Microsoft hires great people. I'm proud to have been a member. There were also the BillG, SteveB, JeffR, etc., meetings... I learned tons every time those happened.
When I left Microsoft, I went off to: I wrote the book Winning Lifelong Customers with The Five Abilities(R). I I also started The Five Abilities(R) sales consulting. I focus on entrepreneurial enterprises with dedicated sales forces. I'm in my fifth year on the board of Vision House which is a Christian nonprofit that provides transitional housing to homeless families.
I now live in: Sammamish, Washington — I haven't moved.
Currently I am: Not working as much as I'd like, but it's self-imposed. I'm at the end of rehab from surgery to reconnect my left rotator cuff and repair my left bicep tendon. I've used the free time to read.
My favorite benefit of being a Microsoft Alumni Network member: Hearing about what all those great ex-Softees are doing and the Microsoft Store (access and discount).
The colleague that I’m most curious about now:  Jeff Thiel and Deb Douglas. Early on they were models of the MS culture. I learned a lot from both.
